Paneet Singh is a playwright and filmmaker based out of Vancouver, BC whose work is largely inspired and informed by Sikh and South Asian culture and history. Paneet is best known works are his two stageplays The Undocumented Trial of William C. Hopkinson (Monsoon Performing Arts Festival), and the critically-acclaimed A Vancouver Guldasta (Diwali in BC/The Cultch), which received an honourable mention in “The Best of Vancouver Theatre in 2018” by Vancouver Presents. Paneet was identified as a "major player" in the success of South Asian theatre in Vancouver in 2019, and pick as one of 2018’s “most exciting fresh faces to watch” by Colin Thomas. Other film and theatre credits include Flowers From Venables (Director, Woodenbull Films 2020), Men Express Their Feelings (Cultural Dramaturgy Consultant, Sunny Drake 2020), Public Market Pick of the Fringe Winner Guards at the Taj (Director, 2019 SACHA/Vancouver Fringe Festival), All's Well That Ends Well (Apprentice Director, Bard on the Beach 2019), Showstopper (Story Editor, Skoden Pictures 2019), Unkept (Dialect Coach/Cultural Consultant, Crazy8s 2019), Burning Point (Dramaturgical Consultant, Railtown Actors' Studio 2017), Menage (Director, Sidartha Murjani Films 2016).
