Milan Singh (she/hers) is a curator, podcaster, and community organizer. Her work focuses on issues of race, gender, and justice that have impacted the broader South Asian diaspora in BC. She was involved in developing SFU’s Komagata Maru Digital Archive, supported the City of Vancouver’s 2021 Komagata Maru apology, and consulted on an educational resource with Historica Canada. Milan carries a strong passion about women’s stories, and in this work, led the development of Vancouver’s Harnam Kaur Plaza and curated a graphic narrative on this story with visual artist Keerat Kaur. Milan’s most recent community endeavours center on indentured labour history, and connections of South Asian migration from Fiji to BC. She is one of the creators of the Nameless Collective Podcast and continues to stay involved in community arts initiatives through various forms of knowledge sharing. Milan holds a PhD in Communication Studies from Simon Fraser University.
