Reena Devani is a teacher, writer and self-taught artist whose practice engages drawing, carving, block printing, engraving and weaving. Her work examines themes of hope, resiliency, interconnectedness and rebirth, often explored through symbols of nature. As a first generation Canadian whose family immigrated from India-Kenya, she experiments with a variety of materials, textures and mediums often sourced from her family's places of origin to subtly reflect her world view.

Reena is the author of A Better World, Revolution and New Canadians (Rubicon Publishing) and loves being a teacher. Once described as "a nerd by day, artist by night", she enjoys reading, gardening/farming and hiking in the beautiful outdoor spaces of Ontario. She is the owner of an independent creative business, kisii and donates proceeds of her sales to advance tumour research. As a chemo patient and through her involvement with Desmoid Canada, she has advocated for patient care and representation as a Board member.
